I'm researching valuations at Kelley Blue Book for used Priuses but dealers rarely give the style choice. For a 2010 standard model choices are: I Hatchback 4D II Hatchback 4D III Hatchback 4D IV Hatchback 4D V Hatchback 4D For a 2009 standard model you get: Standard Hatchback 4D Hatchback 4D Touring Hatchback 4D Valuations change as you choose a different style. How do I figure this out? Peter
Just google Prius Trim Levels...Auto Trader has a pretty good general outline for Gen 3. Gen 2 is harder to find information on. It is confusing as you have at least Two Generations of The Hatchback...then Toyota expanded the Prius family, One Two...I II, Prius V..no v, Prius C..no Prius c... I still use a variation of the Enigma Machine to figure out what Prius I'm driving. A little digging will give you a baseline. But in general I think the easiest thing is to know what you want, and then whatever the trim level you are looking at, make sure it has those things. I think The Prius in comparison to most cars is very well equipped even at an entry level. So unless you are seeking Radar Cruise Control or a Solar Sunroof, or heated seats? There is a LOT you will get whatever Prius you end up with. Probably becomes a little more potentially confusing if you are looking at used, as you never know what any previous owner might of added aftermarket.
.... And if you want to buy a trim level 2 at a dealer they will prob price it at a level 5 until you get in the know and question them. Conversely if you want to trade in a level 5, they will gladly offer you value of a trim level 2 up until you question them on that. So yeah it does pay to know what you have and keep in the loop of values.
