I got them on eBay. Brand is OPT7. To be honest with you, it was bright last night. Then when the sun is out, not so bright........ 20150209_124250.jpg

Has anyone attempted the LED foglights that the retrofit source offers for our cars?

If that is the ones with the square/rectangular lenses, then yes, I believe a member put them on their v wagon and was very happy with the results. Nice, sharp cutoffs. I wish they had them in the 2500k to 3000k color temperature though.

Thanks guys! Loved these wheels, I think Multiple spokes really make this car stand out! I will say MPG so far has dropped by 1 MPG, but It's been colder than usual. On a side note I bought this car with 128k miles and I've only been averaging about 35 MPG. I normally don't use the hvac and I drive pretty conservatively. I do commute on a hilly hwy so this could be a factor, any advice???

BTW I will get more pics once it gets nicer and not so cold!!!

Thanks for that, do they have a good width on the ground? Also I don't have fogs now, do I need to buy anything extra?

Something's not right if you're getting 35 MPG and driving conservative... Is the trip display showing 35 MPG, or are you calculating that? Could the bigger wheel size be affecting that display?

I don't think I could even hit 35 MPG if I tried. It's been below 30's here for a while now and I'm floating in the 45 MPG range, but driving really conservative. I just started a new tank and am at 50 MPG right now (not even 50 miles in yet though).

One thing you could try is blocking the lower grill with some 1/2" plumbing insulation. I haven't noticed any difference in MPG yet and would need a scan gauge to see if coolant temperatures reach a higher temperature faster.

The trip is showing this but when I calculate it, it is less then the computer. I drove the car stock for about 2 weeks and when I slammed it, I was getting better @ 37 on to 38 MPG's. I am getting 33.8-34 mpg since I installed the wheels. As far as gas I use shell 87, and now that I'm typing, would me not using 0w 20 oil lower the mpg's? Also what other maintenace items would effect this?

    Re. Slowpriusj:

So far I have owned my persona with the stock 17's for 3.5 months and my lifetime calculated average (it has been pretty darn cold here since I bought the car new) is right around 40.5 +\-mpg, 43.8mpg lifetime currently displayed on trip b with 3300 miles on her. I know it will get better and even out progressively as the weather starts to warm up though so I'm not too worried.

I drive slow almost all the time (55-60), grill block (lower), tires pumped to 44/42, p&g when I remember, barely use the heater but when I do it's set between 67-69 on auto...... This is my second prius so I kinda get it...

So I'd say bumping up to 18" rims and non LRR tires, and being in cold weather as well that high 30's mpg wise is about right, especially so if your not doing all the above consistently.

But I must admit that those 5axis rims look amazing on your car! Prob the nicest looking set on here. Gap is perfect too with your drop!!

I guess my mpg is reading correctly. For awhile there I thought the toyota recall update lowered my mpg.

I am driving with the oem Toyo Proxes
215x45x17 on 17 inch Persona wheels.

My commute is 100 miles round trip which consists of about 30 miles in traffic, and hilly freeway driving.

In the summertime and driving conservatively, I was getting at least 45 mpg.

In the winter time i am getting just under 45 mpg.

Then I had an unrepairable tire just around the end of last year, so I had to replace two tires with cheap non LRR rolling tires.

Now having two different pair of tires on 17 inch wheels, my mpg went even lower to 40-42 mpg.

Since I drive alot in traffic, once the freeway opens up, my driving goes from 15 mph in stop and go traffic to at least the 65mph speed limit and I guess we can say the fast flow of traffic.:)

Because of my tires, my driving condition condition and winter season, I'm only currently averaging about 38 mpg.

With the cheap pair of non LRR tires I got, on 17 wheels, driving in the winter time, in traffic, there is no way I will get the 50 mpg average.

People who are averaging th 50 mpg or greater are most likely on LRR tires on 15 in wheels and are driving Consistently at 50-60 mph.

I'm sure once I replace my tires with 4 new LRR tires, go through the break in period, drive more conservatively, I will go back to getting at least 45 mpg.:D

Where are you located? Your profile doesn't say... It makes a difference as if your in a cold climate it really saps our mpg. Temperate place like FL, SoCal, etc can enjoy year round mpg averages that rarely fluctuate.

Check fuelly for personas, the avg ranges from 40-47 but it seems the avg for most owners even out to about 44-45ish. Seems about right as the low numbered avg are prob driving them hard in cold weather, and the 47ish people are taking it real easy and live where it's always warm.

I can easily get over 50-55 mpg sometimes on the trip meter readout when I shut the car off but that's normally on my way to work not on the way home in the middle of the night when it's colder. I also find that I do real well on longer trips with cc set to 55-60, the short trips to the corner store really add up in jointly killing our mpg. Lol.

Still I love my persona and think it handles great with the 17's! So I'll gladly take the few mpg hit for the ride and handling improvement, just have to work a little harder to get the big numbers... ;)

EDIT: Almost forgot this is the "What did you do to your Gen3 today" thread........ I filled up my empty Windshield washer fluid reservoir! It took the whole damn gallon! Thirsty bugger, Damn you Mr. Winter!!! :(
