While this is the first Prius I have actually owned, this is the third Prius I have driven. My Father-In-Law owned a 2001, and 2004, and the 2010 that I now own. He drove the 2001 about 60K miles before he sold it to his Daughter when he bought the 2004 and she put another 40K on it before she sold it to buy a van. My son bought the 2004 with about 60K when my FIL bought the 2010 and my son is still driving it. Presently it has 120K+ miles on it and still doing pretty well. I purchased the 2010 just before Christmas from my Father-In-Laws estate, he passed away last summer. It is a 2010 Prius II, if I understand correctly, and had 27K miles on it at the time, and to be honest, I probably put half of those miles on it driving him around to Doctors and such. Good shape, all service done at Toyota, and all recalls complete. Typical nicks, dings, scrapes, etc, but mechanically in great shape having spent much of it's life in sunny Florida. I took a lot of flack from my Truck Driving Buddies about the Prius (For the most part, I drive a '96 4DR, 4WD, Chevy Tahoe) but I have always believed that cars like the Prius fill a perfect niche in the spectrum of vehicles. When I need to haul something, I use the Truck, when I need to haul my wife and myself, we use the Prius. We actually took it on a trip to Tampa, Florida after Christmas to take care of some things and made the 990 mile journey down on about $42.00 in gas. My truck would have taken $136.00. Right tool for the right job! I do have plans to install a factory BlueTooth, I-Pod, Radio from a 2013 (Got a Great eBay Deal!) into the vehicle and eventually a Backup Camera. I have read all of the threads about this topic extensively but sure I will have some questions about my particular configuration. Thanks for letting me play! Dogmeat
Thanks! Still trying to wrap my head around all this "Social Media" stuff. This is only the third forum I ever joined so bear with me if I am still learning protocol. Of course, if you count the old BBS's, using 300baud modems, my count would be much higher. Dogmeat
Welcome aboard!! Just remind them of your monthly gas expenses in comparison to a single fill up of the average SUV... ...all while trying to hide the smile.
