anybody succesfully tapped in to the maplight switch and run LED ligts to the center of ceiling? My only complaint about Prius C is... not enough internal ligts (and no automatic head light). I will be changing the OEM map light blubs to LED type. that might make it little better. But i think i will have to provide some ceiling lights that can throw light down from the center of the vehicle around all 4 seats.
I havent done that but, I have tapped the map lights to run 2 LED strips in the footwell area of the driver and front passenger.
That looks cool and bright. Thanks Kingnba6. questions.. 1. any picture of that map light switch insides? does it need solder? 2. how did you routed the wires from mapswitch to 2 sides towards footwell area? thanks.
Kingnba6, would love to know how you tapped the map lights - what did you do? I'd like to add a rear dome light if possible but don't know how to do it... Thanks!
Well I used a very simple method: I replaced my dome lights with LED boards from ebay. As you can see in the picture, the LED boards have the red and black cabled coming to the led board. I simply spliced into both the red and black cables and ran the cables from the dome light down to the footwell area by routing them behind the drivers side pillar. The footwell LEDs work with the dome light and fade on and off.
