I just turned 120k miles on 2011 Prius TWO, haven't been here in a while thought I would check in. I have 74 K miles on my Energy Saver A/S Michelin tire, going to order a new set this week. When is the new one coming out, the one that is suppose to get better gas mileage? I have not had any trouble out of car so far. I rotate tires, change oil and filter every 10k and drive it.
I have almost 100k on my 11 -- got 90k on the original Bridgestone 17". The michelins are not giving the same mpg
I got 46K on the original Yok avids on car. I could drive a lot further on the Michelin's but they are almost to the 2/32 mark> My wife gets about 52 mpg in summer and 48 in winter here in NC. I can get 55-60 mpg in Summer. Its according who is driving the car. I never use cruise control, she does and these hills eat up the mpgs. I plan on getting a new one in 2016 or when ever the new ones come out with the better mpgs. I've already ordered my tires today or I would do some more research and maybe try to find a better tire. These Energy Saver A/S have been reliable so decided to try another set. I have got 62 MPG on a 450mile trip is the best I've ever done. These tires are the 195/65/15
I got new Michelin Premier A/S tires today on my 2010 Prius. The OEM tires were Goodyears and lasted 45K miles. After driving the car today, I can say that the original tires were cr*p. The car rides and handles much better and is significantly quieter. I went with the Premiers because it appears they are the successor to the Primacy MXV4s, which was my original plan. Even if I do lose a bit on the mileage, I'll take it for better ride and quiet.
My 2010 turned over 145,000 while I was on the phone with my local Toyota dealer, she was inviting me over to have my car appraised so they could sell me another one. I'm gonna keep this one for a while.
2010 Prius III. 98K miles and all I've replaced has been wiper blades, one set of Yokohama Avids at 58K miles and 3 H11 headlights. Great car and soon will become my son's first drive....when he proves himself worthy.
Nope One thousand seven hundred original miles. I have never taken my car out in the winter and it has never been driven in rain Always in the garage although that gets a bit dusty after a few months Battery's are holding up excellent. I keep a maintainer on the 12v battery and always have my HV battery topped off before I put it away. Mike
At first I was interested in the MPG's but after taking delivery of it I realized it is just too nice of a car to drive just anywhere. I keep it off freeways so I don't get stone chips. It's more of a occasional fun to drive car when I feel like taking it out of the garage. I do play the Prius MPG game and watch my ScanGauge so I can get high MPG numbers when I am out wandering around the countryside. My original plan when I ordered it was to get a regular Prius Three, but then my wife got in on the order process and convinced me to order a loaded up Four. It's a nice car but something that cost ten grand cheaper would have been just fine and I would not have felt bad about driving it on freeways or in town with traffic on a daily basis. It still would not have gotten driven in the winter as I have a year round Kia Soul for that task. I have always had separate summer and winter cars. This season I will finally get to go to the gas station for it's 5th fill up since new. One tank lasts me quite a while. The 2013 season I only put 100 miles on it Last season I think I drove it a couple hundred miles maybe? Most of the miles are from season #1. Mike
In the words of my mother when my wife turned in a 4 year lease vehicle with 5,500 miles on it: "All you did was save all those miles for the next guy to enjoy the car in."
My 2010 has 78xxx. No mechanical failures. Just the rattles in rear hatch area from the teeth jarring potholes and sub artic temps in this state.
Wow, I swear nobody actually drives their Prius. Picked up my 2013 on black Friday 2014, pre-loved with 17.6k on the clock. Since that time, I've already doubled that, 33.1k as of this post. At this rate, I'll easily clear 100k before 2015 is out...if I stick with my day job for that long.
I have a 2011 Package 4 with current 4 years counting miles @ 113k+, oil changes, on the 2nd set of 17" Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires, nothing been done yet except the 12V battery early upgrade, I will keep driving since it still give me average 46mpg on the 17" wheels and tires.
