Just curious what everyone is getting off their tires. We have a 2012 level 5 that came with 17" wheels and TOYO tires as part of the package. We are at 47,600 miles and rotate the tires per the book. When it had 40,000 miles I had the service done in Boise while we were on a trip. I asked the service manager to have the tech measure the tire and disc brake wear. I drive pretty aggressive for a 59 yr old behind the wheel. The verdict? 80% tread remaining and 90% brake pad remaining. What? At 47,000 miles the tires look like they could go another 20,000+ no problem. I'm wondering if anyone else with a P5 and 17" TOYO's is seeing that kind of life with theirs? We did a 3 year lease on it and the lease is up in July. We are WAY over on the mileage allowed for the 3 year lease (36,000) but it doesn't matter. Our Prius has had zero issues and doesn't have a single door ding on it so I already told Toyota Financial we will be buying it at the end of the lease and keeping it for a long time.
I am at 48k and my Toyos are at 3/32nds. They will be replaced at 50. Take a measurement yourself. I am leery of their claim. The Toyos are notoriously crappy, the most I have heard here is 60K before replacement.
I'm generally happy enough if my tyres last 30-40k miles. I'm willing to compromise on longevity if they have better grip and are LRR (in the case of the Prius)
I have a pair of hankooks bought in 2013 with 70+k on a 2010 Prius. I may change them soon but they have twice the wearbar tread thickness. Ssi
