That's bad. I wouldn't touch it with a 3-foot pole. This is why you want to deal with the seller at his place of residence.
If the title is Salvage, you don't get any warranty service from Toyota, you will have trouble getting insurance, and you will have trouble selling it. Guaranteed.
no but first i would want to get the price down based on the miles... then do the carfax. the lady seemed honest that she took super good care of it. $6500 seems a bit high for the miles on that one with 163,000 miles
oh ok i should check. there is a black 2004 prius with 174k miles for $6,000.. maybe i can talk down a bit.. is that a good deal if it has a clean title and mainted well? i will look on autotrader too
The guy with the black 2004 prius with 177k miles said $5600 is doable.. is that something i should jump on if i run carfax and it looks ok? I also saw another 2004 prius with 148k miles for $5450 but i like the black one better based on color Here is what he says: TAX TIMES HERE INVEST WISELY ON FEW DAYS TAX DIRECT DEPOSITS ARE COMING 5000 MILE OIL CHANGES SAVE YOU MONEY HYBRID ENGINE SAVES YOU GAS MONEY$$$$$ NO SMOG EVER SAVES YOU MONEY NO SMOG ON THIS CAR EVER YOU ONLY PAY $86 DMV REGISTRATION EVERY YEAR THATS IT NO MECHANIC AND NO SMOG FOR LIFE BLACK W TAN INTERIOR CLOTH THIS CAR RUNS 65% ON BATTERY ELECTRIC ENGINE AND 45% ON GAS ONE SO THE TRANS ENGINE AND ALL ONLY HAVE LESS THAN HALF MILES OF CAR ON THEM 173,00 MILES RUNS STRONG THESE THINGS GET 500,000 MILES EASY AND CAN GET CLOSE TO A MILLION MILES. BATTERY WAS CHANGED 12 V TWO YEARS AGO NEVER NEEDS SMOG FILL UP TANK WITH $20 AND GET CHANGE ITS GOT I THINK IM THE THIRD OWNER HAD IT FOR 4 YEARS plus now THIS CAR NEVER NEEDS TO HAVE SMOG CLEAN AIR VEHICLE NOT SALVAGED DRIVES STR8 MOST THESE CARS ARE SALVAGE OR BEAT UP MINE IS NOT INTERIORS CLEAN NOT DIRTY LIKE MOST MY CAR IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF OIL CHANGED ON TIME EVERY TIME RUNS LIKE NEW NEW TIRES BREAKS WERE DONE 6 MONTHS AGO ONE BATTERY WAS REPLACED THE OTHER IS GOOD TIL 300,000 MILES YOU CAN USE IT FOR "UBER" SAVE GAS GAS GAS COST $20 TO FILL UP TANK NOW GETS 42 MPG -51 batteries perfect like new
Sounds like a car salesman... Too hyperbolic for my tastes. Search Autotrader and filter for private sale.
Traction batteries die from age more than from miles. I'd buy a 2007 with twice the mileage of a 2004 with the original battery.
