12V is OK, but do give it a charge if you can, just to be sure. The rear toe in can't be adjusted except through the use of special shims, and is a bit of work. I don't know how much mpg improvement to expect if those toe ins (the major area of concern, front is probably OK), are reduced, but given your accelerated tire wear, I would pursue it further.
Excessively large toe-in at the front makes your car track straight and feel more stable on the highway, but causes accelerated tire wear and decreases the gas mileage. Good you had that corrected . - Alex
just noticed these emails - thanks everyone for the tips. MPG has been going crazy: I'm at 8.6L/100 km / 27 MPG since I did the repairs 3 weeks ago (700-800 km ?)
Another member recently posted that his front brake calipers were binding on the discs, which was the cause of his poor fuel economy. I suggest you raise up the front end of the car and make sure you can rotate the front tires by hand. If not, that might be part of your car's problem. Even if the car is IG-OFF and the gear selector is in P, you should be able to rotate the tires. As you rotate one tire in one direction, the other tire will rotate in the opposite direction.
in my car (second hand 2008) at 110 KPH i get ~6.5 l/100Km for a 450Km drive at 120 KPH i think 6.5 is not a bad number
