Haven't even had my first oil change. The other driver admitted fault Already. I'll be going to the body shop tomorrow. She backed into me while she was backing out of a parking spot.

I'm sorry man. Had a few scuffs myself but nothing that bad! I hope you're able to tape her back together okay.

Looks like the wheel (and rear suspension) dodged a bullet. Hows the 12 volt battery?

Hopefully the 12v battery is alive to get it to the body shop tomorrow (its located in the exact spot your car took the hit)

It could be worse... you could be located in the northeast also waiting for a blizzard to arrive tomorrow. :(

Best of luck getting everything back to normal again.

It seems to be all right above the battery. I tool the panels off and the battery and brace seem to be fine. I was able to drive it after.

Sort of "likewise". Last week I was driving on a narrow two-lane street with parking. Some yayhoo opened his door without looking just as I got to him and took off my passenger's side mirror and did damage to both doors from there on back. Fortunately, only cosmetic damage and I'll get it fixed starting tomorrow.

Emotionally draining given my Prius has only 2800 miles on it. I was planning to add 1200 or so on a trip this week -- but that won't happen!

Ouch! That's among the worst places to get hit because the rear quarter has to be cut out, and a donor welded back in.

I'd get 3 quotes from expensive body shops, and then require insurance to pay out the median of the 3. Then take the cash and find the cheapest body shop that you trust to do the repairs. Bank the extra as a payment for this inconvenience.

This is one reason I always buy used; it hurts less the first time the vehicle gets damaged.

I hear you, but buying a used one, is always new to you!!
To Ryans01 and Phil Wheeler, I wholeheartedly can understand what you're feeling.
I bought a new car, the same day, this AHOLE opened his door and left a ding in MY door.
I vented @ him, but then, what else could I do, I can't take him to court over a door ding!
I just recently purchased a pre-owned 2013 & I'm driving in bumper to bumper traffic and there's always people shuffling between cars to get ahead.
    I'm keeping my arms/feet/fingers/toes Xed!!!
