Thanks. I have been following your build thread. Your ride is gonna look insane when you're all done with it. Keep on modding.

Hello again. I knew you posted here awhile back. I am in San Jose, California.

We've had a few storm events and we have been getting into the 45s. Nothing that cold compared to other parts of the country.

You are right about the warm weather around here. It definitely helps with the mpg.

However the hilly freeway commute I have and the fast flow of traffic really kills my mpg.

Right about now I am wishing I were living back in SoCal!! It's supposed get down to a 20 year low come fri/sat here in This region, now they are saying -25 with wind chill! Wth.

I did take my motorcycle out twice last week and put close to 100 miles on her, it got up to the mid 30's one day and it touched 40 the next....so I couldn't pass up that chance to ride :)

I used to own a 2013 prius 3 with the 15" stockers and could easily average 48-50 mpg lifetime avg. and that was my first prius and I was learning, so yeah it's def the bigger rims that hurt us, a worthy trade off id say. I think the persona handles better than the Charger R/T I traded it in on. Lol.

Use the hills in your commute to your advantage.... Speed up a little before you hit the hill, slow at the top by way of not pressing the gas pedal as hard, then coast or glide to the bottom (I like tapping it into neutral) to extend the "free mpg's" as long as possible.

As to the high speed flow of traffic, I used to live in SoCal so I know all about the Madness. I guess just do what you can to not get ran off the road, far right lane and go as slow as possible or practicle.

Time to replace my 15 year old Carmate rear view mirror.

    20150211_081210.jpg 2015-02-12 12.41.46.jpg

Believe it or not, this came from my old 4 door Honda Civic from the 90s. That was when sport compact car magazine started out and brands like HKS, DC Sports and Neuspeed, old school Rockford Fosgate Amps where in.

Anyways, this is what's replacing it.

My scangauge helped me become a better driver.

I was averaging about 38 mpg.

But getting rid of the lead foot got me 48 mpg.:D

After almost two years, My Prius has gained alot of weight.....

All my upgrades have been complete add ons with the exception of the TRD Springs, LED and HID lighting and OGS electronic shifter.

Just a thought... If I don't stop adding things on the car, I can forget about MPG.:D

Hehe, bud, you may have dated yourself there. We might be around the same age. I met @Johnsk93 last week and he called me OG, because I said I liked the look of the older BBS/Sparco Mesh style rims hehe.

If you rotate your oem mirror upside down, your wide @ss mirror won't block your view out of your windshield as much. ;) :D

Holy heck! Almost $7 in savings on a 40 mile trip! Either you have the gas prices set wrong or you used to drive a jacked up super charged hummer H-1 rolling on 44" super swampers!!! Lol.

Great improvement mpg wise though :)

*In case you didn't realize it, you have to set your previous cars avg. mpg along with current gas prices to get an accurate reading on the savings display.
