Can you get a 2015 Plug-in Prius outside of California

yes, it is sold in 15 states, and many people in the other 35 states have purchased them and registered them in their state. it can be maintained and repaired at any dealer.

I wouldn't say lots .... but there are a decent amount.

on a more serious note, several dealerships will ship them to the States where they are not officially sold.

checked acton toyota where danny had the togob4 meet, they had two in stock. to be honest, i don't know how many would be typically on the lot, i bought mine from the factory, and have never looked at local inventory. i do see a few on the road every now and agin.

Yes it is i got my 2012 in Maryland in July at Antwerpen Toyota in Clarksville Maryland.

 

I just checked the inventory of 4 NJ dealers. No PiP.

The PiP has always been tough to locate. Maybe the Region doesn't order many. Maybe Toyota doesn't offer many preferring to send them to California. No Liftback Fives either.

Dealers are entitled to inventory based on how many prior transactions go down. So - the dealers that REALLY want to move inventory (whether it's PiP's or Land Barges) will slash prices to move a lot of product. Move a lot of product, and it entitles you to get more inventory. That's just the way it works. So if your dealer has the possibility of selling PiP's ... but doesn't really attempt to move 'em ... then they won't get any more. That's why some dealers here in So Cal get more PiP's to sell . . . . because they sell more to begin with.

No wonder the used ones have good value around here, I guess that explains no give-away deals on the used.

 

i think you're both correct. but it's more likely most dealers outside cali don't care to have them. especially with gas dropping like a rock.

 

Is California the only state with the HOV incentive? For many here, that alone is sufficient to get a PiP (or Volt). Note that the sales issue isn't just with the plug-in; apparently all hybrid sales are really off nationwide due to the steep drop in gasoline prices.
