It's really aggravating that iPhone music is automatically played when I turn the car on. It happens even if the music app isn't open. Less than a month ago the dealership upgraded my car software, but that has made no difference. If I don't shut off bluetooth or disconnect the music, it will automatically play it. Has anyone found a solution?

What version of EnTune is your head unit running? When I upgraded mine to 3.2.0, the auto-play over bluetooth issue was resolved.

Same thing I find, only it turns on both music players I have installed on my phone. The result is that 2 audio files begin playing simultaneously, and I have to go in and turn them off manually. Thisis incredibly annoying, and I've yet to find a setting to turn off the "autoplay" function.

@GregP507 Do you have 3.2.0 or an older revision? When I purchased my P3, it had 2.1.0 on it, and autoplayed every time the bluetooth would link up for the phone integration. The move to the latest (that's in the wild) firmware, 3.2.0, fixed that problem.

That's funny. After I upgraded to 3.2.0 my Galaxy S4 started playing music automatically. I had to find a setting in my actual phone to stop that... Maybe you could google how to stop the iPhone from automatically playing music when it makes a bluetooth connection.

I'd like to find that setting on my Note 4. Please describe how to find it.

Well, I'll try it, and thanks in advance. It sounds like it might work.

I went to setup | general | system information and it says I am running version 3.2.0. Is that the version number from the head unit you are talking about? As I mentioned Toyota upgraded my software, so I assume this means they did it properly. However, I am still getting the obnoxious auto-play.

I tried it a bit last night, and it works to stop the auto-play, but it still needs either a lot of tweaking of the settings, or the product itself needs to be further developed. Getting it to play properly seems to be a bit buggy. The disclaimer says it's in early beta. I may eventually get it to work properly, but it would be better if the engineers had done their job in the first place.

I called my dealer and asked about this firmware update. They don't know what I'm talking about.

I have an iPhone and it sounds like the phone solution above is only for Android.

As noted above, I'm already using version 3.2.0 of the firmware (setup | general | system information) and it doesn't fix the auto-play problem for me, so I called Toyota Entune Support at 800-331-4331 to see what they could offer. The person I talked to checked with a supervisor and someone else, and they said the only way to stop the autoplay was to go into the bluetooth pairing in the Toyota audio system and disconnect music. I already knew that, but then you have to reconnect that every time you want to play music. That's a clunky workaround, it's sort of like "fixing" autoplay by disabling bluetooth on your phone. Basically they're saying that there's nothing that can be done about the auto-play.

If anyone has found a solution to this that works with an iPhone (6), let me know.

There is a solution, but it requires an ipod or ipad. Pair your phone for internet and phone, and your ipad or ipod for music. The car will hold the pairing that way about 90% of the time. But, sometimes, you will have to go into settings and reset what is synced to what.

It's a pain for sure. I never know if it's paired until I go into the setup to check. Sometimes it won't pair, so I have to turn it off and on, on the phone.

When I want to start playing Bluetooth audio (even with the helper-app) I have to manually start the track from the phone, and then it skips around, advancing, fast-forwarding and rewinding, but after a few button-presses it manages to settle-down and play a track. Really pathetic performance by any standard.

Gregg. I think I remembered how to stop the autoplay with the Galaxy... Mine never auto-played until an Android Update was pushed from T-Mobile. (I already had updated to 3.2.0 Entune). The post I found was to delete the phone from the car, then reinstall it. After that, the auto-play stopped. Sorry for the above post when I said that it was a phone setting, I was incorrect. Try and see if this helps with your note.

As far as the iPhone is concerned, I did a google search and read multiple posts. The auto-play is reported on multiple forums and people stated that it happens with Subaru, Ford, VW and others... None have found a solution...

However, one post stated that if you stop playing music and close iTunes before you turn off the vehicle, that it does not auto-play when they restart the car. This may work for android, as well. Stop the music and close the app (hold down home button to display all active apps and swipe left to turn it off. Remember, all apps run in the background until you actually close them this way.

Yeah, that would work, but it would be more trouble than what I'm doing now. Generally, I have all my audio on a USB-drive, which has worked almost flawlessly for nearly a year.

I just got a 2015 Prius two on Saturday. No fancy audio, just the standard stuff. When I picked the car up, it would stick with what I had selected last from Bluetooth; Pandora or stored music. Sunday my Samsung Galaxy S5 got the latest Android update 5 something. Now, Stored music comes up automatically when I select Bluetooth and I have to manually select Pandora; it doesn't display the Pandora screen (song, artist, album). Those fields are blank, or it displays the last song that was on stored music. I can't find any way to change the settings on the car or on my phone.

I have read that removing your phone from the car stereo and then reinstalling/pairing it may help.

I did an update on my phone to Android 5.0. I'm thinking this might be the problem.
