I want to say how valuable this website has been to me over the past three years. I purchased a Prius c and a Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) in 2012. By far they have both been the most practical vehicles I have ever owned, PERIOD! Thank you all. The time has come to say goodbye to my Prius c. I traded her in on a Brand new 2015 Corvette Stingray Z51. I still have my Prius v ( lowercase v for the Prius v wagon ) and will drive her as long as possible! Here is a picture of them both together... For anyone that is interested....Managerman's 2015 Corvette Stingray Z51 -M
Thank you. I totally agree...never was a "corvette guy" but when the C7 came out, I was blown away. I figured that I never wanted to have regrets 25 years down the line that I didn't go for it when I could. You only live once. -M
The Corvette, hands down has been a truly iconic American car. And it seems that over recent years Chevrolet has crossed over and is making a vehicle that can compete entirely with the great European sports cars, and yet still retain that true American automotive spirit. Glad to see GM hung in there with the 'vette. It's a beautiful machine. Enjoy it well!
Try some of you learned hybrid driving skills and tell us what kind of mpg's you can wrangle out of that beast. I've heard it can actually do fairly well when you "keep your foot out of it".
Nice trade! There are times I miss my old C5. It had no problem getting 30mpg on highway trips. Granted it was much less powerful than today's beast. You are right, you only live once. Make the most of it!
Fotomoto, I already on it!!! I learned some great techniques on how to maximize mpg's with my prius'. They will apply to the Corvette too! Here is a great article on the C7 stingray's great fuel economy... Corvette C7 stingray fuel economy. Thanks! -M
Vaya con Dios! Many happy and safe miles to you. I too am deeply impressed by the C7 but I'm hot and cold over some of the changes. However (comma!!!) the car is a little out of my depth band for affordability and so it would be low rent for me pick nits. Great car... Enjoy it!
I had one new Vette, a '67, everybody should have at least one, but in my day they were affordable for a 24 year old just getting started..... you'll always be able to say you owned one.
Never have been affordable for me since 1983 and still aren't. I won't own one in this lifetime unless some benefactor decides he wants to fund my kids' college.
Okay, I have supported Prius at Prius chat for numerous years. BUT...if I had the chance or financial ability to trade in my Prius for a 2015 Corvette Stingray z51? Well....I'd be singing "Farewell, So Long, Auf wiedersehen, Good Night! Adieu, Adieu to the Prius, Me and You!" Like a crazed Von Trap child on meth. Enjoy.
Congratulations, Quite a move. That new vette grabbed you and would not let go. I know the feeling. In 1964 I did a similar deal. Traded a 1964 VW Beetle in on a 1964 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Still have the Caddy. My daily driver is a Prius C Summer Rain.
I love my C, but if given the opportunity to get a Corvette instead of driving my C, I think I would do the same! Congratulations and happy motoring.
