2001 Toyota Prius Front Spring & Shock Absorber 48131-47040 Spring, Front Coil, LH L=374.5 Location: Driver Side 48131-47060 Spring, Front Coil, LH L=345.5 Location: Driver Side I don't understand what that L value means. Which do I need? How do I determine that?
It's the free length in millimeters, which would affect the resulting ride height, but I'm not sure how to determine which one is best. I'm assuming your reason for replacing it is wear or damage to the original, so measuring the old one might not help. Are you planning to replace one side or both? Have you tried asking at a dealer and supplying your VIN? -Chap
Whenever you replace front struts, be it OEM or KYB the upper and lower rubbers (where the top and bottom of the spring contact the strut) are almost always trashed. The aftermarket ones don't fit well so you should order OEM rubbers, and you may need upper strut mounts too. Dealers don't usually stock the rubbers, so plan accordingly.
