I need to remove and then put back the radio fuse. However, I am unable to determine which fuse to pull. I have searched here and under Audio and Electronics with no answers. I have looked at the fuses under the driver's side with no help. Thanks for this possible obvious information Lewis
According to the 2005 manual, the audio fuses are in the engine compartment fuse box. Pages 278 & 279 shows the locations of the fuse boxes, while pages 316-317 shows the specific location of each fuse.
Thank you for your help. My mistake was using the index to find fuses. Anyway, there are 3 fuse entries for audio system, which I take it from your post includes the radio (forgive me my thinking that the radio might have its own fuse). My task is to get the ice-link iPod adapter to work again. (It worked fine when I set it up but now the CD Changer option does not come up when the Mode steering wheel button is pushed). The booklet for the ice-link said to reset the radio but pulling its fuse and then replacing it. So which fuse would any of you try - # 16, # 20, or # 39? Lewis
The radio gets its main power from the 15A Dome fuse. It is turned on from the ACC signal, which won't be present when the car is off anyway. I doubt that will help though. Many of the aftermarket third party adapters go ga-ga with the Prius trying to emulate a CD Changer. Better to unplug the icelink from the back of the head unit, and verify the radio works. If you have a changer (built into the head unit or external), that can conflict with ipod or aux adapters, causing the head unit to be confused.
I'm in the exact same situation as Mr. Weasley: I need to reset my ice>link and Denison tech support suggested pulling the fuse. No CD changer in my 2005 Prius, though, so I don't think that was the cause of my ice>link's confusion. If Mr. Weasley is still following this thread--did it help? I will hope that pulling the fuse resets things for me, because I really don't look forward to the alternatives: disassembling the dash myself (even with the instructions I found on this forum), or paying my dealer another $150 to do so.
Just to close this out, pulling the DOME fuse for a couple of minutes and replacing did indeed reset my ice>link. Unfortunately it also reset my trip counters, MPG, clock, and my turning-off of the reverse beep. But it saved me from taking apart my dash. Thanks.
