I recently replaced the center console due it being damaged whilst replacing tape player, while reinstalling the circuit boards I damaged the ribbon cable between the two circuit boards and the heater and ac do not work. Any advice on how or what I can do to repair or get a replacement part. Thanks in advance for any help.
It's been a while since I was in there ... if I remember right, the cable is soldered to one of the boards, and mates to a ZIF connector on the other one? It's probably possible to find a similar ribbon cable at your neighborhood electronics or computer repair shop, and possible if tedious to unsolder the old one and replace it. Good and fast (but not cheap) would be to just get a replacement for the board it's soldered to (55935-47020?). In what way is it damaged? Maybe there's an easier fix. Pics? -Chap
If possible, post a picture of what you need. I probably have one in my pile of used Gen1 parts. If I have it $10-$15 shipped priority mail.
I can't really see what's damaged. What happened? It looks as if you took a picture on your phone, and then posted a screenshot of the picture instead of the picture itself. If you could post the picture itself, I could probably see a lot more detail. -Chap
I put the dash back together, this is a picture from the web, the part that broke is where the cable is bonded to the plastic connector at the end of the cable.
I can send you an original OEM ribbon cable (properly removed) for $10 or the ribbon cable and entire control panel as shown for $20. Both prices include priority mail shipping. Pmail me if interested.
Paul I am interested, left you a message on your profile page, couldn't find an email address for you.
