GBS available on 2006?

I'm hopefully about to receive a Package #6 from a dealer that has been very helpful and knowledgeable. I was told however that the GBS was not yet available on 2006 vehicles. Does anyone know anything about this?

Also, I've looked around on the forum but haven't been able to figure out if the factory alarm system has an LED on the dash indicating it's enabled. Could anyone comment?

P.S. I know people tend to bash the GBS as not that useful, but anecdotally in my apartment's carport nearly every car has been broken into (not always through the window... they literally drilled the lock out once) sometimes stealing nothing but change in the ashtray. Once I installed an alarm though, I had no more problems (except my radio antenna was stolen twice!). For petty crimes I think the noise makes it less worth it.
