I'm looking into purchasing an extended warranty for my '14 PIP. I checked with Troy Dietrich but he told me that he can't sell to out of state owners anymore (thanks Toyota). Can anyone point me to a dealer in California that has the best price on the extended warranty? I called around to a few (Bay Area) and they all wanted $1,500+ for the 7/100 warranty. I'm thinking these can be had for closer to $1k and still net a profit for the dealer. On a side note... Does anyone consider these a total waste of $? From my research there are issues in the past such as transaxles, headlights, etc.

I talk recently with Troy, he can still sell you said warranty if you buy in person at his Dealership. Now is that feasible for most, probably not. Rack that one up to the other Toyota Regions in the US complaining about him taking their profits. All Dealerships offer the plans, you just have to negotiate the price. Have you checked with Dianne? Well, Dianne replied (very quick response) however she stated they don't sell extended warranties to people who didn't buy cars from them. Not sure that makes much sense but if it's their policy then fine, it is what it is. However, seems to be poor taste to me.
Hello, I purchased 2015 Prius Two along with Toyota's extended warranty (Platinum) today. The warranty was $1,895, 8years/75,000miles/$0 deductible. I found this forum after the purchase, and realized that I had probably overpaid...I am hoping to cancel it tomorrow. Has anyone found a dealer in California that has the best price on the extended warranty? I'd appreciate your knowledge and help. Thank you!
Get your money back, put it in the bank for those warranty repairs, and if you are like most owners, you will have money left over. Dealers sell those things because they are a big profit center, not to help their customers.
