Are there better options if you go to a 205/50/17?

not sure im on the 17 " wheels and the right tyre is a 215 45 17. and these are the best I have found even better then the standard Michelin's . they just roll better sound better make the car easy to drive less hard acceleration needed hence better fuel economy

A 205/50/17 is also the right tire if you want a slightly taller sidewall, which better matches the size the of 195/65/15. The 215/45/17 is actually a shorter tire than the 195/65/15. It's an optional size that some of us choose. :)

Still, a B rating is pretty good in this size.

One sticking point with 205/50R17 might be convincing a shop to do them. In Canada/USA Costco for one can be royal pains, doing anything other than stock, both for tires sizes and the psi of that precious nitrogen they'll put in. I'm still thinking about it tho, thanks to F8L's suggestion.

225/45/17 will also provide more choice (i got dunlop blueresponse, happy with them, but my initial set on the car, so cannot compare...) about the same total diameter as 195/65/15.
