Hello Everyone, I'm going to buy Toyota Prius 2013 model. But i can see several transmission options there. Can anyone please explain me what is DAT, IAT and AT in Prius transmission modes? and what is the best option to choose? Have a nice day! Thanks in advance, Prasad.
Hello David, Thanks for your reply. May be i have misunderstood this, But have a look below captured image from japan auction site, and each of vehicle has section for "Equipment" as IAT, DAT, FAT, AT. I'm wondering what are those? And also i noticed that DAT cars goes bit lower price. Best Regards, Prasad.
they all say IAT from here. in the u.s., all prius have eCVT, it's really not comparable to anything else out there.
I just picked the top few rows to make sure headers are there. Anyway below i have attached another image with few other options as i mentioned above. There you can see IAT, AT, DA, DAT. i don't know what they are.
okay, now i see it. no idea what it means. maybe different in japan, to maybe not refering to the transmission. could it be how they refer to their option packages?
I don't think thats their package, because they display the packages right underneath the year and chassis ID.
I suspect it's just the guy who entered the data getting confused. Again, there is only one type of transmission in the "Prius Hatchback" third generation (2010 to 2014). The Prius C is different. I think the Prius V is the same as the Hatchback. Perhaps a Japanese member can elaborate.
A quick google reveals... Japanese car auctions car details | Integrity Exports It means nothing on a Prius; AT = Automatic Transmission. D = "Dashboard-mounted", I = "In-dash". So different people entered the data for these cars, and interpreted the meanings of the codes differently. They'll all have the same shift lever on the dash. The price differences are a coincidence. (Or maybe the people who know which is the "correct" code to use have a better idea of the right price to list too, who knows?)
But it seems like we have a third pedal in DAT cars apart from accelerator and break. see attachments, Can anyone see why is that?
AT – Automatic transmission FAT – Floor automatic transmission (same as “AT”) IAT – In-dash automatic transmission DAT – Dashboard-mounted automatic transmission (same as “DA” above) CVT – Continuously Variable Transmission SAT – Semi-Automatic Transmission MT – Manual Transmission F5 – Floor-mounted 5-speed manual transmission F6 – Floor-mounted 6-speed manual transmission
