HI- I had a 2008 Package "Zero" Prius when it was brand new (literally "zero" is was packaged below Prius I, I think intended for fleet use, zero bells and whistles) but wrangled 52mpg out of it over two years. I went on to MINI Coupe from there and was delighted with an '08 Coupe and a "12 Couple (both standard, not "S" models, both in 6 speed manual) and got 41 mpg out of those, but then moved up to a Countryman for the last eighteen months, but was getting tired (even at low gas prices) of 35 mpg tanks, plus a range of only like 395 miles (was used to 600, more or less, in the MINI Coupes and '08 Prius). So back to the "mother church". I could not resist the Absolute Red and the interior trim of the Persona (a "hybrid" no pun intended, of a II and III???). It has a sharpness of appearance (wheels, interior trim, tinted glass) that gives it a bit of attitude. Drove it off the lot yesterday. I look forward to getting back into Prius chat (I was active years back). For starters, how to demobilize the back up beeping sound?
By the way, this is downtown Charleston, South Carolina. You see historic Colonial Lake (an urban park since about 1872) in the back.
Congrats, One of the nicest Prii I've ever seen! I know exactly where this photo was taken in Charleston! My favorite city
Nice colour, but (especially back in the UK) red cars are known for their reputation as "Cop Magnets" (especially BRIGHT RED!)
congrats and welcome back! she's a beauty. you need a code reader to change the back up beep, or ask your dealer for a freebie. all the best!
Welcome back, and congrats on the Prius. Years ago I also owned a brand new 2003 Mini, I was so excited when I placed the order for one and built the way I wanted it, but that excitement was soon turned to sadness and at only 10K miles traded it in as it was a disaster. I have never strayed away from Japanese cars again. Enjoy the MPG'S!
Corner of Rutledge Avenue and Beaufain Street, in front of Berkeley Court, a grand dame 1920's building now converted to Condos. No hills in downtown Charleston! I am tempted to go to EV mode since there is a stop sign on every corner and its low speed.
Very nice and great choice. Persona is a nice model, glad to see it return. Really like the turn signal mirror.
I too had a Mini Cooper for 5 years. It cost me a fortune when warranty went out. Worst car I ever had. I had so much money invested in it I almost hated getting rid of it but I was so tired driving 100 miles to the dealership every month because it had to be towed in for breaking down. Thank God that nightmare is over. I am now the proud owner of a 2015 Prius c2. Just love it. Should of done it 3 years ago. I will be with toyota forever.
You will love the Prius C, it has not given me any problems since I purchased it new. I have owned many cars and it is one of my favorites.
As a previous owner of a 2006 Mini Cooper I can admit what a huge upgrade a prius is in terms of reliability. The 06 lost it's transmission at only 89k miles and was sold for 1/3 of purchase price. If that happens to my prius I'm bringing out the bicycle. Love the red looks great!
