My heater fan stopped working yesterday for no reason and looks like all the fuses are good, any suggsetions
Buy a multi-meter or find a friend who has one. Could be the fan itself or a switch or a loose wire. IF it is an automatic system, find a shop. Even if it is a manual system, a shop visit would be best and probably not TOO expensive. Any chance that it is still under warranty ??
no, out of warranty, because of the mileage I found a You Tube Video about it and the way Toyota powers it is through a pulsing contact wire and a small circuit board with a heat sink plate, for some reason or another they stop working. This unit is mounted on the fan that stops working. I am not sure this is my issue however I thought I would share in case someone else has this problem to check it out.
I assume your 2012 has more than 36,000 miles? Is that way you are trying to fix it yourself? You are out of the warranty?
Try bypassing the fuse, the relay, then the motor-controller, to see if that makes the motor run. That pinpoints the bad component. If the motor itself won't run, even with direct power, it needs replacing.
I don't understand. A really GREAT post with solid information and a good diagram of the heater fan system................. and now those parts are GONE. What the hell ??
