Hey guys! Love this forum thank you all for your advice and tips. I currently own a BMW 750i. After carpooling for about 4 months to work with my uncle in his 2nd gen 2007 prius i just was amazed by the car. His is up to 188k miles with no issues or leaks. My total daily commute is about 100 miles. I love BMWs (currently have 2 lol)) but they have their issues and gas mileage isn't why i bought them. I have been searching for about a month for a Prius to have as a commuter car. I wanted to buy a 2006 or newer with less than 180k miles and i wanted to spend around 5K-7K. While on craigslist recently i just was messing around and was checking prius listings in other nearby states (I live in socal). To my amazement i found a 2012 prius in Phoenix for an unbelievable price. My dad and I drove for about 6 hours. The seller was an amazing guy, very genuine and helpful. We drove it back home perfectly with no issues. So heres my purchase tell me how i did......no one believes me when i tell them. 2012 Prius 2 168k Miles 1 owner clean title clean carfax no reported accidents body is in great conditon interior needs shampoo cleaning $8,400

Looks to be a decent deal, paid 1/3 the price but you bought a car that's 2/3 used up based on miles. very new exterior but lots and lots of miles for such a short 2-3 year life. Any service records? No need to duplicate the services already done. Make sure you check the oil level every 500 miles to determine how much oil the car uses. Don't go 10k miles between oil changes without checking the oil level and gauging the oil usage.
Wow, your recently purchased Prius was driven (roughly) an average of 230 miles a day prior to you owning it. Someone was probably driving it at least 7-8 hours each day. Makes me wonder how it was being used.
