Hello, PriusChat I have had my 2010 Prius II for a couple months now and one of the first things that I wanted to do was update the headlights. So last night I blacked out and installed projectors from the Lexus RX350. I'm attaching some pictures of the process. All pictures were taken with my Galaxy S4. Projectors were purchased from TheRetrofitSource. I painted them red to give them a passive demon eyes look. I was surprised when I found out that they were actually noticeable at night when my headlights are turned on (4300k). The RX350's are pretty much a bolt on application, although I did need to cut a little bit to fit the solenoid for the bixenon cutoff shield. Also, if anyone is thinking of taking apart their headlights, I highly recommend that you have a buddy help you. This can be done by one person, but it is just SO much easier to have someone help you pry the headlight open after you bake it in the oven. 1 person holds and the other works the screwdriver to pry it open.
Looks good. Maybe the trim ring around the projector would have looked better blacked out, or painted red? Candy apple, or something metallic... I hope you used high temperature paint for those internal bits of the projector.
Yep I used high temp paint. I honestly didn't even think about painting the ring a different color. Now I'm tempted to pop them back open... but I love the way they look now.
Took some nighttime shots with my phone. Doesn't really do it justice but you get an idea. Right now they are aimed a little too high. My gf complained that they were too bright when I was driving behind her. ... but she also said they're cool looking I like how at certain angles the red is really noticeable when the HIDs are turned on.
