2014 Plug in Prius 110 volt charging?

    The J1772 protocol is real simple, and has now been out for a while, and the logic to support that, plus the actual plug and a relay for the main power, is pretty much all there is in an EVSE. There really isn't much reason any more for them to be expensive or not to be compatible. I think the biggest part of the expense is the J1772 plug itself, for which there is a significant fee to the patent holder.

    BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!!!!!! From page 13 of my 2012 Prius Plug-in Owner's Manual Quick Guide:

    "Press the test button on the CCID (Charging Circuit Interrupting Device). IF THE ERROR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATES WHEN THE TEST BUTTON IS PRESSED, THE FUNCTION IS OPERATING CORRECTLY."

    Also, I'm curious which state you purchased your PIP from where the Basic warranty is "3/30".
