I don't think I'd want to do them. Want a high-tech burnout? Gentlemen start your electric motors - MSN Autos
I don't know if the spectators would get used to Teslas racing each other and that they could still hold a conversation.
I attended an SCCA Showroom Stock race at Lime Rock in 1973 (Car and Driver reader's challenge). A field of production subcompact cars with full exhaust systems. All you heard was hissing in the straightaways and squealing in the corners. It was funny.
My brother and I were there, too. A photo of him and his friend wound up in Motor Trend's coverage of the race.
Also hard to get used to the lack of lung irritating / raw-½burned exhaust. Nothing like that respiratory wheeze by the time you get home. But Tesla vs Tesla ? yep - it's been done Husband & wife - X vs S, both w/ ludicrous option - in the spirit of fun. It's not perfectly quiet - there is still the tire & wind noise. & serendipitously, the wife actually set a record for the X in the middle 11's .... not too shabby ! .
