Looks like I need to buy a pair of HID bulbs (D2R). Doing a search shows wide price gaps ($15-$100). Normally I buy from Amazon but currently they only have 3rd party sellers. Some PC'ers say to stay away from 3rd parties with lower prices because the sources might not genuine Sylvania or Osram. Prices: ($40 Amazon 3rd parties -vs- $80+ NAPA, Autozone, O'Reilley) Any tips???
I'd say get Philips brand from a "fulfilled by Amazon" seller. Those tend to be reputable moreso than other sellers. Should still be ~$40
Amazon is selling them again. The bulb looks good but the packaging is flimsy. Who knows? When it's less than 1/2 the price of Autozone, NAPA, O'reilley, it's suspect. I installed it... will see how long before it dies. Now I need to figure out how to adjust the beam level. It's pointing too low and a bit to the right.
Heads up... I bought the Philips D2R Xenon HID bulb... the one shipped and sold by Amazon. It went dead after 74 days.
Try Highperformancebulbs.com I have been using them for years. The bulbs tend to last at least 3 years and I use the headlights ALL the time and drive about 150 miles daily.
