The nearest Costco to me is 105 miles away in another state. I have never been there. Slightly closer, is SamsClub at 80 miles, but I do not get gas there often. Murphy Gas is my 'goto' station, although I have a Shell card as well.

...sorry Jimbo, our Costco gas station is < 1 year old but it really changed the low cost position...we are $2.98 at Costco

OK so I think you have 21 cents state tax to my 17 cents, so I am paying about $2.62 before tax (for EPA RFG) and your are paying $2.53 for non-RFG...that sounds just about right...my gaso is a more expensive "boutique" blend.

I am doing better than that but I would like the downward pressure.

More gas. I am taking my wife to see fall foliage on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

107 1-cent fizzy cola bottle chews.

And this is why high petrol prices are a good thing.

That's a lot of tanks worth. Good to have an aim though. It would be rude not to (y)

Do you get them in Oz? Stuff this Haribo nonsense, nothing beat a quarter of fizzy cola bottles from your corner shop.

We do. They're not 1 cent any more, though. I like the fizzy cherry cola ones too.

Qatar was brilliant for this sort of thing: there were big sweet shops in the souq full of pick-and-mix sweets. There was interesting Middle Eastern stuff, and there were proper, loose, fizzy cola bottles.

At our school tuck shop, we had beer-flavoured chews in the shape of pint glasses. They went well with those candy cigarettes. Start 'em early, I say.

You're right: Haribo is a poor imitation of the joy of a proper fizzy cola bottle.

lol I used to love those. The candy cigarettes with the banned red food colourant on the end, all nicely presented in a pretend fag packet. Kids today don't know they're born lol.

And then there was Junior Beer from Viz lol.

I do look at those candy cigarettes now and think "What were the grown-ups thinking?"

On the plus side, the beer chews looked like a pint of proper Northern beer, with a proper creamy head. It is good to educate kids as early as possible.

That sounds nice! You'll probably find some low cost gaso and maybe some E0 over in that region.

£1.23 a litre here :) Down from £1.40 about a year ago. It now works out at $6.93 a US gallon. Down from about $8 a US gallon earlier this year.

    Still keeping the Prius though.

Low enough for Putins cronies to get rid of him? I think there's some way to go.
