Has anyone been able to use Engine Link to successfully disable the reverse beeps? I've gone back and forth with the developer and they claim it can be done (and has been done by other customers). I've tried importing the CSV route, as well as manually inputting the custom PID one field at a time to disable the beeps (get it to one rather) and haven't had any luck! When I try importing the CSV (which they even reformatted for me), I don't get anything to show up after I "load" the file. When I manually add the PID, it shows up, but never turns green. Reverse Beep Disable Header: 7C0 ModeAndPID: 3BAC40 Formula: A Min: 0 Max: 0 Unit: NA Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!
Ended up just using my MacBook Pro together with ZTerm to disable the annoying beeps (seatbelt and reverse). Had to issue the commands several times before it stuck, but no more beeps! iPhone ? - now Free
If you have not updated to Engine Link 3.4 you need to do this. I just tested the Reverse Beep this morning using the same PID you list above and it worked correctly. Prior to 3.4 EL was only using response headers. This is OK for standard engine and emission data. You need to use request headers for Prius specific data.
Could anyone write out the steps to use Engine Link with a wifi ELM 327 interface? I have it synced to my iPad running the Engine Link app. Thank you in advance. Spent an hour and figured it out. Love my car even more now!
I believe it does not work with the Australian Prius. I would like to hear from anyone in Australia who has managed to disable the reverse beeping. Thanks.
I managed to get this to work last night and used the ELM327 reference manual as well as a custom list of PIDs provided by Prius Chat as well (thank you). So here's what I did: - I used EODB-Facile to communicate to ODB2 port (others may work fine) - connect to the ICE ECU (not the HV ECU) - once connected, go to the terminal, the protocols should already be set, so you can bypass that part of the session setup. - issue "AT FC SH 7C0" without the quotes to set the header value to 7C0 - issue "3BAC40" to disable the reverse beep, you should get a reply line back (still working on deciphering those) - issue "3BA700" to disable the seatbelt beeps The change should be immediate and there's nothing you'll need to do to "store" those values. If you want to turn reverse beep back on, issue "3BAC00" and to set the seatbelt belts back, issue "3BAC40". iPad ?
