 I was shopping at a dealership this past weekend and test-drove a 2003 pre-owned Prius. That Prius had a distinct smell of llamas or livestock...something very gamey. I then went to a completely different dealership and test-drove another 2003 Prius. I was amazed to find out that the faint smell of llamas persisted, but wasn't as strong as the first car's smell. Am I imagining things? What could be causing this car smell? My best guess is the batteries or a smelly ventilation system that hasn't been cleaned. *shrug* Thanks. --juggler
This has to be one of the most unusual posts I have seen here... A first generation prius that smells like llamas... thats special...
LOL Hmmmm sounds like someones been vent sniffing again.. LMAO! No really, maybe the privious owners were Lama herders or were such water conservationists that they didn't bathe until they started to smell gamey... or they had a lama fetish and got the lama car air freshener..
Yeah, I wish I were making it up. Unfortunately, friends I was with smelled the gamey smell as well. It was both funny and unnerving at the same time.
My mom and I both have also smelled something similar in a 2005 Prius. I also started to wonder if it's the battery mechanism or something...? Guess we'll never know. I think you have to have a pretty sensitive nose to pick it up, and the smell is not always there. Let the rest of them BAAA away. I don't think you're crazy at all!
