    That's good info but I have a question. U have any idea what it could be? My 2008 Prius won't start but my headlights and stuff but my engine won't start

    Rather than tap into the wires at the ECU under the dash, I instead made my modification at the plug near the left rear wheel. I removed the faulty unit. Then I soldered 2 2k resistors end-to-end (4k total), with a center tap between them. I plugged the center tap into the center inlet to the plug and the other two leads to the outer inlets. It works perfectly in that the warning lights are not on. I checked the headlight leveling and it seems to be ok (although I will do a more careful job checking in a few days). I taped up the resistors and plug with electrical tape (although I may have to do a better job with that as winter approaches). So far, so good.
