125-140 realistically. There are people on myrav4ev.com that are getting 170+. I think the record is 182.

Yup. It's pretty perfect. It's too bad Toyota hates ev's. Look at what they made when they didn't really want to. Imagine what they could do if they actually wanted one.

Here's wishin I'd found a deal like that....
And lovin the pics of ravEV's ... and would love to see a shot or two of the EV Ratio screen if either of you guys gets a chance. I wonder what that screen is called in the ravEV?

I was told by a guy who bought one new in 2012 that lives in Webster NY that I can expect 60-80 miles reliably in the winter. I'll do better if I use remote climate to preheat it while it's plugged in.

If you want one you better hurry. They are almost gone forever. They have like 60 left.

The negative side to this is the low volume. Used parts will be hard to find and service will most likely be dealer only. Imagine if it breaks down and the dealer wants $4000 for an electrical ecu. Yikes

Finding a trained dealer in ny?

I could make the same argument for any Ferrari. I'd still take one in a heart beat. I actually like that it's a rare car. I think it makes it more special.

I think I read somewhere that the EV RAV4 just ceased production. So after the pipeline is drained, no more new EV RAV4. I think Toyota has made it clear that their emphasis will be on hybrids; gasoline/battery for now, hydrogen fuel cell/battery next. Not pure BEVs.

Yup. Their plan from the get go was that they were only making 2600. There was talk that they may build more and sell them in other states but Toyota quickly squashed the rumors of that.

They will be getting their necessary zero emission credits next year from the hydrogen car which will also be a low volume, California only car.

I believe back in the days when GM had the EV1, they were first leased out but everyone had to turn them in after their lease and they had them all crushed....that was pretty strange

Toyota supported the original RavEV way past that required of them legally. I'll also point out that this version uses Tesla parts. I don't know about price, but long-term availability is unlikely to be a problem.

I was actually referring to Used parts availability being an issue. I would think Toyota would be required to have "new" parts available, but due to the low volume, it would probably come at a significant marked up MSRP compared to something that's high volume for the mass market.

Leasing would be a smart option on this car, under $500 for 3 years/unlimited miles. Instead of keeping it after 3 years, I would pay it off for $18000 and sell it for $25000. Effectively only paying for about 2 years of the lease and not have to worry about repairs and such after the warranty period.

Used parts are scarce for any low volume car, but this RAVev has a chance of a used secondary market because of Tesla.

Somewhat on a tanget, as I have said many a time before: A not small allure of the Toyota Prius is the number of cars sold. It gives rise to support communities like PriusChat, widespread expertise, and inexpensive secondary markets of used and non OEM new parts.

It is not strange. this is all from the bean counter.
The EV1 is never a production car and it is never sold, in order to claim tax write off for inventory and R&D, they must be destroyed by law.

Toyota' hydrogen hoax car will be lease only - & Toyota will only be allowed to lease them if they get a waiver for safety issues.

Tesla and Rav4 has more than the T in common, in Rav4 Tesla built the electric systems, didn't them?

can you imagine how WAY cool it'd be if the Rav4ev also had Tesla's super charger port!?! You'd go from a 20% charge to 80% in what .. . .. 15 minutes? Woah !!

But with a 'supercharger' you are hitting those little 18650 laptop Li-ion cells with a 1.5 C charge rate.
That can't be good for those little cells, no?

Plus what would it cost for that quick charge? Some Tesla owners get it free, some don't.
But there is that appeal with certain Teslas. If you live near one and can wait in line,,,, Free Energy for Life !!
