P0000 P002B P003A P001f P0023 P0034 P0043 P0050 First time I see an error code 7.5 years into the car. Scanguage read them and I cleared them (successfully for now) What should I worry about? A/C lost power a couple of minutes before the errors started blinking. No other weird behavior noticed, no recent services other than an oil change. Thanks a lot!
Exactly what warning lights appeared? That list does not show valid Prius codes. You need something better, Mini VCI for example. Check the inverter coolant reservoir for fluid turbulence when the Prius is READY. If you don't see this, the inverter coolant pump has failed and that is the root cause of your car's problems.
I recall that the check engine light and the red triangle light appeared, that the lcd screen was showing a red triangle at the top, and that the cabin lights and headlights dimmed. All that happened in ready mode. thanks again!
~69,000. This morning there were no lights, but this liquid had minimal flow/disturbance when I looked at it. I think there was a recall on this pump? Can I drive her 5 miles a day for a week or so before I fix it?

The Youtube video is entertaining & scary: 0:34 - begins to describe the two cooling systems (ICE & Inverter) 0:46 - says Inverter cooling loop cools Inverter and Hybrid battery in the back. YES, Inverter loop must be bleed. Author doesn't state this or show this being performed, just drives off. He did a good job swapping out the inverter pump with minimal removal of stuff.
I need to drive it 11 miles to the nearest shop, is there any way to make that drive less dangerous for the inverter?
I went to a Toyota dealership 27 miles from my home when the inverter coolant pump failed on mine. Luckily the LSC was still active and it didn't cost me anything to get it replaced except my time. My pump failed in Sept 2012. I drove to the dealership no faster than 45 mph in the early morning to make sure I didn't overheat the inverter. The temperature was about 55°F that morning if I remember correctly. Since you're in Hawaii, it doesn't get that chilly, does it? In that case, you might want to have your Prius towed to the dealer on a flat bed if you don't want to DIY. The next time the inverter coolant pump fails on mine, I will DIM.
You could try putting a bag of ice on top of the inverter and drive early in the morning when the ambient temp is lower. The ice might do nothing for the inverter but would make you feel like you tried. I assume that you won't be driving at a very fast speed.
Towed it 12 miles ($90) and fixed it (with new liquid, $380). Many thanks for the good advice. It's the second replacement (first was under warranty).
