radio problem

After 3 months of owning our new 2014 prius 3, after picking up our car from the service of 5000 miles, found the radio no longer worked correctly. Though dealership felt it was nothing to do with their servicing, they ordered and replaced with a new radio. Upon calling sirius radio as it was no longer working, discovered our new radio was actually a radio from a 2012 prius. So our questions if anyone can help... does it seem acceptable to replace 2014 radio with 2012 radio? Is there any difference with hd, voice commands, etc? It does say software is version 3.1.0. Sirius could not transfer our subscription as obviously we are not an authorized user for the radio and account now in our car. Suggestions?

 

We had a preliminary talk with the dealership. They said the 2012 radio is the same as the 2014 radio. It would seem the technology would have changed. Still researching Internet to confirm it is the same. Does anyone know? It does not seem acceptable to replace a radio on a 3 month old car with a 2 year old used radio, however the warranty says parts can be replaced with new or remanufactured parts. Is a whole radio a part?

 

Does anyone know part numbers/model numbers for radios in 2012 and 2014? And update, Toyota was able to get Sirius to "deactivate" the radio in the prior radio owner's name, and so now we do have the Sirius subscription we paid for. However - the 2012 radio we have now seems different from our 2014 radio we did have in our new car. For instance, now when we back up for about 2 seconds the back up screen goes half black/half filled with the radio station we are listening to. It did not used to do that. Does anyone know the exact model/parts number of either or both of the radios in the 2012 and 2014 prius? I cannot find anywhere on line. Thanks for your help!
