just got a prius 3 with the standard display audio and nav. i cannot seem to have it connected to entunes. phone and music are working fine. i'm using a tmobile amaze 4g android phone. i pair the bluetooth with the car, and open the entunes app on the phone, it says its listening on the icon but when you hit options on the phone, the "connect to vehicle" is grayed out. it says in the instructions that it should say "disconnect" to confirm that the phone is in the listening stage. am i missing something here? do i have to connect directly to the USB port?
Did you sign up for Safety Connect? Without that working, the Entune will not work. You also have to have the Entune app launched on the phone - or it will not launch in the car.
I can run my entune apps over bluetooth on my android without the app running, in fact I uninstalled the app
Nate Reisen of Jon Lancaster Toota has some posts here. I have model 4 with 7 in. display HDD Nav, but the answer should be the same. With an iPhone. --- BT can only connect for phone and music; for Internet (Entune) you need to cable to USB.
I have a tethering plan, and I find with my iPhone 4S all features are available without using USB. All internet features (Bing, Pandora etc.) all work by creating a BlueTooth connection to my phone and my phone begins streaming internet to the car. I have a 2012 with 6.1 Display Nav
I have a lot of trouble connecting entunes with the car, I also have a Prius 3 and a 4g android phone, it is an HTC Thunderbolt. I do get a connection sometimes, but then it drops right away. It takes a long time to get Pandora running, after trying multiple times to get it to connect, and then I can get about 10 seconds of a song playing before it disconnects. I tried to connect my phone to the car with the usb cable, but got an error response: "USB drawing too much power." I've given up on entunes.
We just bought a new Prius 3. We have EXACTLY the same problem. "connect" is greyed out, phone works but entune apps are not connecting. If anyone has a solution we'd appreciate it.
I have HTC 510 Desire and the Entune download is not compatible. Latest updates on HTC. Does Entune not support this with current maintenance? 20k service performe 2/6
I also have my iPhone 6 connected to internet via Bluetooth, all entunes app work and don't even have the entunes app installed or connected via cable. you just have to go on the settings and enter your DUN connection details (SSID, user, pass) and it will connect to your phone's internet (if you have tethering) also the entune app on the car needs to know your login for your entunes account and that's about it, this is also somewhere in the settings. this works the same for both android and ios.
Does this happen automatically for you? It doesn't connect to my hotspot unless I launch one of the apps.
An Android phone doesn't need to be plugged into any port, BlueTooth is all you need. I assume that you registered with Entunes Toyota - Entune didn't you? If not, you need to. If you have and it still doesn't work, you may need an update to the Display/Nav unit. hope this helps
