2014 PIP vs 2015 PIP?

    Is there a major difference between the 2014 and 2015 PIP?

    I notice some dealerships are providing 0% financing but I wasn't able to find the technical specs on the 2014 model now that their 2015 is out.

    2015 PiP is about 50 lbs heavier. Reportedly, they added reinforcement for the new crash test.

    And yet, the 2015 non PIP has the same weight as the 2014 non PIP.

    Sorry for this bump, but one last question. Basically 95% ready to buy the 2015 PIP, already had a credit check with the dealership but can someone confirm if it qualifies for the 2500 tax rebate or it will? I'm looking on the site here: fueleconomy.gov/feg/taxphevb.shtml and it doesnt mention the 2015 model, I'm guessing perhaps because it hasn't been updated yet?

    The dealership said they actually are not completely sure.

    There's no reason why it would not qualify, but as you guessed, the certification process may not be complete yet for the 2015. You should be good. There's a phase-out after Toyota sells 200,000 plug ins, but they would not be anywhere close to selling that many plug ins.

    As long as you have enough income, you should get the 2500.
