    Hi All,

I recently purchased a package 5 2010 Prius with Advanced Technology Package, The radar sensor seems to be damaged, the MFD keeps showing PCS is currently unavailable with the PCS light and the radar cruise shows an error with warning lights when activated, I made sure that the radar millimeter sensor is damaged by replacing it with another one from a friend's Prius with the same AT Package, I also cleaned it and cleaned the emblem from both sides, and drove the car without the emblem at all(the other car PCS and DRCC worked perfectly with emblem removed!)

The important question, how can I disable the whole PCS system? I just don't want it to keep showing the damn error on the MFD, that is very annoying, I have Techstream Lite with original cable, adequate knowledge and tools.

Im thinking of unplugging the ECU but cannot find it :)

OR, Anybody knows where to find a used sensor for a good price? cannot find any on eBay :'(

    Thanks in forward.

There is a button for PCS under the dash. It's somewhere near the TPMS sensor button. Did you try seeing if the PCS system was turned off, which is causing the dash lights from being illuminated?

When I purchased my car I picked it up with the PCS lights on the dash on. I couldn't use the radar cruise control. I looked in the manual and it indicated that there was a button under the dashboard. I pushed it and everything worked.

    UPDATE:
I found the two ECU responsible for PCS and DRCC and disconnected both, not PCS light appears, not warnings on the MFC, but I lost the cruize control, no problem till I find a used sensor for a good price, any suggestion about an online source for used parts?

    Another update:
The sensor seems to need calibration, did several tries to solve this, but still with no luck

Yes I was able to disable it, by unplugging two ECUs behind the glove box, this will disable cruise control as well

    Hey AbuS3ood.

I have the same problem. Spare part is $1.5k, and I don't care enough about PCS. I am very interested in your solution, so I removed the glove box to find a barrage of ECUs. I am a bit terrified to just do trial and error, so I wonder whether you could help.

Could you please describe which ECUs you unplugged, or suggest an easy way to find them?

I would love to do the same.

Thank you very much in advance!

    Thomas.

Thanks for getting back to me, even after having sold the car!
So 2 days ago I said just **** it and started to arbitrarily pull out some ECUs. Not a good idea! Parking on a steep hill, the display eventually gave me a 'hand break error' and the car wouldn't no longer start. But after a few minutes, things were back to normal.

So I just took a few pics. The first one is an overview, the remaining ones are detail shot. Hope you can remember them. Again, thanks a lot in advance for your help! Very much appreciated!

    Thomas

unplug these two ECU's, this is what I remember, it will disable the normal cruise control as well.
get back to me if I was incorrect.

    IT WORKS!

Been driving around with the warning for 2 years now… can't believe to see that silly animation again. :-D

Thanks again for your help. Now I just need to tackle the headlights warning that came up 2 weeks ago…. ;-)
