I purchased from eBay also and had the fear that something might not work I went ahead and ordered the xkloader also since my install will be overseas. Got everything from ebay but amazon also has some good deals.

 

"RFTD not activated" is what thr pdf says.

 

Probably U are right, I downloaded 2 pdfs but ready to print tomorrow at work. Still, the xkloader is on the way, just in case....

 

I am back again. For those who have smart start, do I just need dsm200?Also anyone experience any issue with start start like lag time?

 

I just found this thread and was about to purchase the DBALL, t-harness, and loader so that I could remote start my car with the Toyota key fob.

Directed's website says that the 3X Lock Button start is no longer supported!

Will loading an older firmware enable the 3X start feature? If so, can someone share their backup firmware?

 

Go on eBay and ask one of the sellers that sell it, they can also load the firmware, if they can do it like that?

 

I bought my DB-ALL2 with pre-loaded firmware from an eBay seller, no charge.

 

Can you provide a url or information regarding taking out steering column and covers to get to the wires?

 

will the direct xpress start 4x10 work better than the db-all?

 

Hello everyone - first of all thanks so much to OP for this valuable post. I ordered the harness already, and contacted thru ebay one of the sellers for the DBALL unit from someones post. They advised they could get it - but, they could NO LONGER flash the RSR 3x lock anymore. Does anyone know anything about this? Would it be something someone on the board would be able to help me out with if they have the software and loader ?

I am located in Central NJ and if that is an option would gladly drive if someone could assist me. Thanks in advance!

 

DEI disabled this for the RSR cars and now sell it as a feature with DBALL-Pro and all All-in-one VSS systems. You are grandfathered in if you had it installed already and do a firmware upgrade.

Yes. All the instuctions above will work. You can buy it with the firmware pre-loaded but will not get the 3xlock remote start. All other features work the same.

Yes, but those modules don't have RSR so the wiring is much more extensive. The link below are the modules and their features that can be used for your 2011 Pruis (too many to list here)

Oh boy. So that brings me to my last question....there seem to be quite a few members that bought the XKloader and I am assuming have not updated the firmware. Would it be possible for them to flash the DBALL with the old software/files that would allow the 3xlock to auto start to work?

 

I would say no. I think it's module dependant, not firmware dependant. They are programmed via an InternetExplorer WebApp, so they control it.

Does anyone have a DBALL that was flashed that they are no longer using? Its a longshot, but worth asking I guess..
