    this is my favorite Prius! I love the way it looks, the stance is perfect. do you have any rubbing issues? did you roll the fender lip? and where did you get your tail lights? those are exactly what I'm looking for!

    no rubbing issues on the wheel/tire set-up...... fenders were not rolled..... the tail lights are just tints that I did.....

    Hey guys from those of you who are rocking coilovers what are your spring rates that you guys are running and how do you favor them for dailying/stock. I'm looking at the various options that is out there and some spring rates are 6kg/6kg but the majority of them are 6kg/4kg. I kinda want to go stiffer but idk suggestions?

    I'm using the Ground Control kit for the Toyota Matrix 8070.01. The front is much stiffer than stock but the handling improvement is worth it than staying with probably closer to 4k spring rates. As the kit comes standard, the rear kept bottoming out and the front was, IMO, perfect. I have since modified the rear rates and am currently running Front Spring # GC140.64.83 and *upgraded* Rear Spring # GC180.64.61

    Front: 8.5K or 475lb\in
    Rear: 6k or 350lb\in

    Thanks Justdidit! That was helpful. I just ordered some coilovers on 6kg/4kg but I think I am gonna either get GC Coil Springs or Swift Coil Springs on 8KG to try you spring setup!

    I looked around, looked at the Megan Coilover setup (4kg/4kg spring rate) as well as the newer brands such as D2 Racing Sports RS Coilovers and XYZ Racing Super Sport (SS) coilover system - Both around $1k and 7kg/6kg spring rates. I decided to go back to my Ground Control setup. The 8.5kg/6kg spring rate seemed to be the best for me.

    The only thing I did think about is grabbing a set of the D2 or XYZ and changing the front spring rate out for something stiffer. The draw to either of these setups is that the shock stroke isn't shortened when you lower the car, where it is on my Ground Control setup.

    Are you still using your wheel spacers? How are they holding up? I was thinking about getting them, just like you have (35 mm in the rear and 15 mm up front) the problem/ question is, I drive a lot I Mean a lot, 120 miles round trip, everyday! How do you think the spacers would hold up? How many trouble free miles have you put on your wheel spacers? Thanks for your help and advice JustDidIt.

    Not currently on the 2007 and the 19" wheels. The wider rim and tire setup won't allow it without rolling the fenders which I haven't done yet. But, when I was running both the 15" and 16" wheels with 15mm front spacer and 30mm rear, you will need to roll your fenders at least in the rear. If you run a 20-25mm spacer in the rear you probably won't need to roll the fenders.

    As far as the durability, I have no complaints at all. I was putting on +80 miles per day - 5 days out of the week minimum. Cleared 30k least year on my 2008 before I totaled it...But LOVED the look and the wider stance even with the stock wheels. :) (y)

    Not with the spacers on. Here is one tho with it lowered without the wheel covers on but no spacers.

    Don't mean to bump an old thread, but what kind of hit did your mpg take after changing the wheels specs and dropping the car? I've read that alterations like this are substantial, but what did you notice?

    I honestly didn't notice a hit but I also did my DC Sports header at the same time. Before I did the remainder of the custom exhaust I was hitting almost 51mpg with the custom intake, header, lowering and spacers from when I picked the car up barely getting 45mpg all on stock set-up.

    Im currently running my heavy 19" wheel combo, lowered, custom intake and full custom exhaust and my car definitely took a hit... at least -8mpg I have to get some lighter 19" wheels.

    I would expect lowering the car would improve the aero via reduced drag,
    and MPG as a consequence

    thats a pity
    its the best looking Prius I know of, and at least some of it has to be the wheels

    Ive looked long and hard at the original version of these (TE37) more than once, 16.1 lbs, and there are lots of cheap copies

    the lightest 18" I know of are Volk CE28n (14.7lbs),
    thats less than the stock wheels they would replace
    either those or Wed's TC-105N (16.1lbs) are a close pattern to the wheels you are running now

    Enkei RPF1s 18s or 19s seem to be a good option and keep the look I like. The 18s are slightly heavier than OEM 16s and the 19s are MUCH lighter than my current ADR 19s.

    Another option are a new or used set of SSR Type C wheels, however they only come in 18s.
