I am in the market to buy a 2010 Prius V and have noticed that both the IV and V trim have the double projectors (or is that a mistake on the part of the misinformed dealerships?). I thought only the V had two projectors, whereas the other trims have only a single projector. Also, if a Prius is equipped with the double projector headlamp, does that mean that it has the LEDs, or could it have halogen lights depending on whether it is an IV or V? The variety of options for each trim can get confusing. I hope my post is clear. Thanks for your help.
I believe the US "V" is the only level with LED low beams, fwiw. Our Canadian Touring is similar in that regard. The appearance of the headlight is distinctly different than the others. Here's a pic: of ours, I think the two smaller lens are the low beam LED's:
Only the V in 2010 came with LED headlights. The V also has headlight washers, stock foglights and stock 17" wheels.
I heard the headlight washers were a necessity, due to the LED's not heating up enough to melt off snow that might pile up. Mmm: you can see them in that pic, that little oblong cap.
Thanks for the help, you guys. It's clear to me now that a Prius with the headlamps in the picture above is definitely a V. I was being thrown off by dealerships that listed a Prius with the headlamps above as an IV trim.
