Odd...I just realized it's NOT on the Prius. Of course, I suppose it's on other models because the displays are a lot smaller, so judging distance really is a challenge (Tacoma has it in the rear view mirror).
It looks great on other cars I have seen with this, tho the screen on the Prius 2013 is large enough to see what you are doing, my only problem is parking "straight" but I don't think this is a major issue "yet" Not an essential necessity, but agree it would be nice to have ;-)
I find it even more surprising that my father-in-law's 2015 Lexus RX350's rear view camera doesn't guidelines either.
The lines should not be needed. It's really just for those who can't judge distance in the image and need an idea of when to hit the brakes.
it helps with backing into a parking space so when you're turning the wheel you know if you're taking the right angle and not going to clip the car beside you! I just keep watch on the mirrors as I have for many many moons!
No. Your car doesn't bend when you turn the wheel It basically shows the path the car will take. If the yellow lines clip the car beside you, there's a good chance you will too.
Sorry I haven't replied. The Blue lines stay where they are but Yellow lines appear and bend showing the direction. Nakamoto I'm really not sure if this unit would be plug and play. It doesn't have JBL on the front like many others have.
