My ToyotaCare plan is about to expire and I'm wondering if I should get my Entune system updated. Currently I have v. 2.1.0 which I installed with the red USB stick. I think the latest available update is v.3.2.0 which is installed by the dealer. For the most part I need Entune for my NAV system (non-HDD) which I use frequently. NAV works reasonably well although once in a while it puts my destination on the wrong side of the street and it doesn't remember reroutes after the ignition is turned off. Pandora, Weather and other Entune functions seem to work ok. Is there any reason to think that a new update installed by the dealer might make my system less functional or create some other issues? Should I just leave well enough alone?
Forgive my stupidity, but what does ToyotaCare expiring have to do with the Entune update? I ask because my ToyotaCare is expiring in a month or two, and I've never updated my maps or Entune (outside of the smartphone app), nor have I gotten a USB stick to do it with. Is this something that's covered?
The Entune update is not for maps; that's always a chargeable item. But there are many problems with the navigation and audio system that are fixed by various updates to the Entune software; this is covered under the three year/36,000 mile warranty and the dealer will do it at no charge. See this post for details: Entune update 3.1.0 | Page 4 | PriusChat But over on the ToyotaNation forum, there's a download and instructions for doing the update yourself using a USB stick. It takes just a few minutes. Entune 3.1.0/3.2.0 update how to and download link - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums That thread started as an update to 3.1.0, but it's been updated for the latest release, which is 3.2.0.
Just updated to 3.2.0 from stock (I think it was 2.1.0) that came with the car (2012 Prius V5) using the USB stick technique. My Pandora had stopped working... kept saying "Pandora has stopped unexpectedly," or something similar, right after starting it. With the new update it works again! Also had problems of bluetooth audio and ipod starting automatically (multiple times... after turning off it would just turn on again) when the car started. I haven't tried it but hopefully those are fixed as well. Thanks for the info!
anyone have a better link to the update? The one in the ToyotaNation link keeps saying it's generated too much traffic so it's been temporarily disabled.
That's the only link I know of - hopefully it will time out eventually and the file will be accessible again.
I have attached a txt file that was originally downloaded along with a link for the iso that can't be attached here. That file (swdl.iso) is 302mb (309mb on disk) so here's a link. It does not update the map file, just the underlying Entune application. I stored both the txt file below and the downloaded file on an usb drive and then plugged in to the usb port on a running Prius v. I am no expert on this, it just worked for me. I have a 2012 v 3, (display audio with navigation but not the advanced tech package). Probably won't work on the 2015 models with their newer mfd. FWIW, with the latest release of Windows Phone 8.1 OS and the Nokia Lumia 1520 'denim' firmware came network sharing via Bluetooth, meaning all the Entune 'app' functionality that was previously unavailable (Realtime Traffic, Gas Prices, Pandora, etc.) is now available via a Bluetooth-to-cellular (or wifi) connection, without any actual Entune app being available for the WinPhone.
I am new to this. My current entune is somewhere around 1.8.x version. Can I directly upgrade to 3.2 or do I need to apply the intermediate ones first? Also, the toyotanation site, in its instructions says step 5 is to "read TSB", what is that, service bulletin? Does it list out additional steps than what is listed?
Does anyone know where I can send feedback about the Pandora app? I finally spent a lot of time with it this past weekend and it seems quite buggy. I have to wonder if they've even bothered to test it with accounts that have almost 100 stations. I have noticed several anomalies that may or not be related to that, however, and most of them are repeatable. I haven't checked for an update in a month or two but I would think this should be a more stable user experience this man revisions in.
So the link that was on that page didnt work anymore for the update what is the latest version so i can try updating mine.
