Hello all! I purchased a USED 08 Prius less than a year ago, and have been loving it. I have already racked up over 10 of miles in less than 8 months. I was wondering about the warranty for the big hybrid battery? It doesn't hold a charge as long as when I got it, and I fear a replacement is in my near future. What is the warranty for a NY 08 Prius? Does it apply to a second owner, or original owner only? I saw a few threads on people posting individual cell load data, but I cannot find a detailed instruction set on how to do this myself. Also, anyone tried replacing the cells with Li-Ion cells? Thanks! Paul
Your warranty for NY is 10year/150k miles. It applies to all owners, as long as your car is not salvaged or rebuilt. I would not worry about your battery, just drive it until a warning light comes on. There's really no preparing for it.
Sounds like you're OK on the CARB warranty... see threads on CARB Warranty Ins-and-Outs and 2014 CARB States (of which NY is one the 13 CARB states)
