Here's one for you. In Beverly Hills, California, driving north on Beverly Drive, SOW (That's South of Wilshire for the non-locals), I saw a B metallic '04 Prius. It was NOT a salsa red in funny light. I will put money down that it was burgundy! Anybody know of this car? Not unlike some Hollywood somebody not to want a stock color on his/her car.

    Re: In the wild!

:D psst..... in northern CA we don't call 'em THE 101 or THE 5, just "101" and maybe "I-5"....

could tell immediately you were from the SouthLand..

I had a 5 2004 Prii day! Went from Dulles VA (ice comp) to Aquarium in Baltimore on Saturday. They had 2 captive at the ticket booth, a silver and a salsa. I tried to convince them to start a raffle and sell me a ticket but it didn't work ;-) On the way back I saw a silver and a black on 495 about 5 PM I guess. The silver headed toward 270 maybe (don't know the roads) , the black continued south. Didn't get the plates, but the black had a front plate holder with no plate. Male driver. Saw another silver ahead on 495 but we got off at Tysons Corner, no other details.
Then saw 3 more on Sunday. a silver and a salsa on 28 near Sterling Rd, ~ 10:00AM. Final siting was a silver around 12:30, same general location. License JJM & 4 digits.

I "accosted" a couple in their Salsa Prius over the weekend.

While driving down the road, I saw them coming towards me and then they turned into a parking lot. I grabbed my pad and pen, scratched "priuschat.com" and ran over to them. Only slightly concerned that they thought I was some lunatic (wouldn't have been the first), I explained that I'm on the Prius waiting list and that this is an excellent web site for fellpw Prius owners and waiters.

With luck, another Prius owner will be added to the ranks of priuschat.com subscribers.

    :p

    rental prii

Saw a silver (unknown #) in Hertz rental car lot at Bangor "International" airport (Maine) on Sunday & Monday. How do rental car companies get prii with so many people on the waiting lists? I do travel for work, think I'll start requesting a Prius if available as my rental car 8)

    Re: rental prii

Except that your employer might balk at the $50/day rate. Maybe you can offer to pony up the difference.

I rented from Avis last weekend at Dulles, they gave me a Chevy Malibu. Cost more like $25/day tax included and it actually got 32 mpg. Not Prius milage but better than I expected. Certainly better than the '71 Malibu my mom had way back. I'm willing to spend $50/day to have a decent test drive, but not for regular rentals of a couple of days here and there. Since EVRental wasn't showing any 2004 Prii, I went the 'regular' route.

4 of us in our community!

I live in a gated community of about 700 homes in North County San Diego.
Coming home I looked in my rear view mirror and there's a 2004 Driftwood Pearl behind me. Best thing yet it has our community sticker on its window.

What makes this most interesting is that this means there are at least 4 of us Prius owners in our community. The Driftwood Pearl, a Super White, my Silver and a Classic I saw last week.

Now I know SoCal has gotten a greater allotment of Prius than most areas of the US, but to think a microcosm community such as the one I live in to have 4 of them....wow!!!

I used to think it was cool to be somewhat unique in having a Prius but the more I drive one, the more I wish more would be able to experience this fascinating vehicle. :D

    Hendy Woods!!!!!

I saw one Prius at Hendy Woods State Park this week, just wondering if that person is a member. It was a Tideland and was in a campsite numbered in the 50's, there was also a electric vehicle there at the site as well.

Just spent the week on Maui. (ya, ya, ya I do not deserve sympathy) 3 Prii 2 classics 1 silver 04. At 2.62/gal (6.00 in Hana) they have as much incentive as any one. Also spotted one Civic (they are hard to pick out) and one Insite.

Went to see Shrek 2 on Saturday. Passed a black 04 on the way and then parked next to a 04 SRP with NH Plates. This morning I pulled into work and parked next to a 04 SRP with MA plates. Both SRPs were package 9.

    Pick up ours tomorrow! Hooray!

Driving to NC to pick up our tideland pearl #9 tomorrow morning. Excitement abounds after months upon months of searching. Bought it at MSRP too, very honest dealer: Griffin Toyota in Hamlet, NC.

I spotted my first out of state Prius today (okay, I've seen Maryland and DC but that doesn't really count since DC Metro may as well be one state). I beeped the horn and waved at a Prius with NJ tags heading East on 66 this after noon so if that's you give me a shout back. It was nice to finally get a response back from the occupants of the other Prius; I don't know if it's because the weekend is less stressed or if being on a Prius road trip makes one more responsive to one's surroundings. So far I haven't managed to get a response from any local drivers -- I guess they're been too busy commuting.

At least 6 people will soon become Prius owners. On my drive from Long Island we passed 2 car carriers on I95 in Conn. Each had 3 Prii. 3 Silver, 2 blue, 1 black.

Wow, saw 4 in the last 2 days. Almost saw the whole rainbow (no white, but I guess white technically isn't a color in the rainbow).

then tonight I saw a tideland. it pulled out silently and took off silently too. seemed very cool in the dark evening.

then saw another driftwood parked one block away
