2007 Prius - Inverter died (82k miles)

    The dealer has quoted a price of 1200$ +500$ (for replacing fuse) to replace a part of the inverter.. Looks like the whole inverter doesn't need to be changed. Fingers crossed !!!!

    1. For $500, I assume that the fusible link assembly is being replaced. Did the dealer report which fusible link blew?
    2. I had not heard that Toyota repair philosophy allows replacement of any parts within the inverter. What is the exact name of this part?

    Ok finally my car is ready.. Final repair bill 2100$.

    Dealer said some AC DC converter has to be replaced but I will post the exact part number once I get the receipt,

    Ok I got my car back.. Its running fine now :)

    Receipt states the following repair,

    Block assembly. Fusible (82620-47050)
    Fuse Mini(90080-82051)
    Fuse Mini (90080-82052)
    DC DC converter (G9270-47040)

    Labor (1005$)
    Parts (908$)
    Total 2095$

    Good to hear Toyota now offers an alternative to paying $4K MSRP (plus labor) for a replacement inverter.

    Wouldn't it have been less expensive to just replace the inverter with a used one?
