It took me 9 months of ownership, but I just noticed that the "4" speaker stereo in my Prius C One includes two medium size speakers in the front doors and two tweeters, also in the front doors. There are zero speakers in the rear doors. This is quite a disappointment, given the marketing of a "4 speaker system" that obviously leads people to think a speaker in each door. Anyway, I'd like to put two speakers in the back and was thinking the best source would be someone who has a Prius C Two/Three/ or Four, and has upgraded their speakers and thus has an extra pair of the rear speakers for me to buy from them. Anyone?
i dont see any benefit of taking the old oem speakers. you can probably get a good deal on 2 speakers which will be better than stock anyday. doesnt matter what speakers you get, the same amount of time and steps will be required for each option
Well the benefits are twofold. First is that I know they will fit without adapters or doubts. Second is that having the same speakers guarantees a consistent sound between speakers, as opposed to one that clashes. That's a snobby audio based reason, but I know I would think about it.
You do realize they aren't wired for speakers, and the mounts aren't in there either. I have a C one and did some research.
No, I don't think that is publicly available info, so I appreciate the insight. Are the mounts and speaker wire hard to add? I assume Best Buy can do this for me if it's a tough install but I'd still like to find the stock rear speakers from a 2/3/4.
It's all over this forum, just a little research helps with that. There are a few C1 installs with pictures that show how people did it.
