Who sells oil and a filter for 15 total? A brand name? The cheapest oil I can find is 23 per oil change and a little more than 4 for a filter from Toyota.

I pay ~ $4 for a filter, about 30 cents for the washer (in bulk online) and then I wait for a deal on oil where I end up paying about $2 - 3 a quart.

E.g., Two months ago Pennzoil sold high quality synthetic oil at ~ $27/5 qts at Walmart and also offered a $1/gallon discount on the next fill-up of fuel up to a maximum of 20 gallons. Since I am able to to purchase 20 gallons at a time (two cars in my case), the oil cost $1.4/quart. When a deal comes along I buy 1 - 2 years worth of oil. Not only do I save money, I save trips to the store and time.

Finding deals is not hard in the internet age. I leave a request for notification at a couple deal sites to let me know when motor oil goes on sale.

I still have probably a dozen of gallons of oil bought free after rebate or on 1$/qt clearance. Most of that is synthetic, but I still use mineral oil in my boat. I haven't seen any of those deals lately though.

I just traded a 2011 Prius Two for a new Avalon just because I wanted a luxury car. I had the Prius for 3 years. Did not spend one cent on it other than oil changes and air filters. Had 48000 miles on it when I traded it. It still looked like a new car and ran like a new one. Great car. As you know you can drive a Prius for hardly nothing and the reliability of a Prius is just fantastic. You have a lot of trouble free miles ahead of you.

I baught a used 2006 prius in 2009 loved the car not the color. Tan
I just wanted to upgrade to Bluetooth and other modern options like built in nav and sat lite radio. I just got my 2012 pip on July 6th and am loving it. I have got 60 mpg on gas and electric combined and 100 mpg on electric alone.
Now I need my condo to agree on a outlet for 240 so I don't just have to use public stations or plug in with a extension cord inside my condo.
I haven't been able to change my city location on my charger location map inside the car. I changed it to my city but it still searches Virginia were the previous owner used it. I do get to plug in at work for 10.00 a month so .50 cents a day is good.

My family has been driving them for around 10 years. I own 2. 2007 and 2013. My sister a 2005. My mom has 2, 2008 and 2014. No real problems. Normal wear and tear. That's it. Great cars. And that's coming from a master tech. Me

In California, condo Boards have to allow the install of a charging station. But the member needs to pay for the install. Virginia may follow the same laws. You need to speak with the Manager of the property regarding the laws on this, if you have not done so.

I called my management company and they said the haven't had anyone want a outlet or station installed. I have to get a electrician to give me a drawing of were it is located and what it will look like and how it will enter condo wall. Then the board and lawyer have to study it and get back to me. This is in ohio.

That's how long I have been driving "my" Prius. It's been upgraded 3 times, but if this thread is intended to include comments from long-term owners (believers in the technology), I have that perspective.

It's been quite rewarding, especially the experiences of new discovery from each generation's improvements. There's been a number of impressive forethought features on Toyota's part.

All that time and still enjoying each drive.

been driving it for 2 weeks. Got scratch on my left rear bumper (from someone else getting out of parallel parking) on a less than 2 weeks brand new car :(

My average gas mileage's been less than 50mpg, it's abt 45-48 mpg and getting less than 500 miles/tank for the last 2/3 refills :(
I tried the pulse and glide and etc though.

However, I like the quietness you get when you're on stealth mode. No need to turn the engine off and feeling to hot in a car w/o air conditioner for 5-10 mins :p

:)My eighteen month Prius experience has been positive. Only desire since I have a PIP and introduced to EV driving, I want more. Don't suggest another brand, just hope the Gen 4 PIP offers a increase in EV range. My short daily commute would be better served with a solid 30 mile EV range and minimum 65 mph speed for highway driving. Definitely doable. The Prius, in my opinion, is capable of meeting almost all transportation needs, other than towing.

I've had my 2014 Prius Three since the beginning of May and I love it. I have almost 5,000 miles on it. No maintenance yet, need to do that soon.

How many years have I driven my 3rd gen 2011 Prius?

2 years and 9 mos and just over 25k miles ...

It gets the 'job done' driving-wise, but is kinda boring, which is sad cause it's awfully good on gas. The '11 model dr. seat / steering wheel designers ought to be (have been) fired.

I get by with 2 inches foam on door armrest, 1 inch foam on center console and a clipped on board to support lower right leg, no lie. I would not buy this model again, my mistake. I'm saving to replace it.

1.5 years on a 2012 level 3 hatchback , 31,000 miles of which last 9,000 on trip to Alaska and back with some very rough roads. Just routine maintenance so far BUT the bolts holding the plastic guards at the front of the rear wheel wells have all vibrated out! I inserted replacements and wired the plastic guards on as no convenient Toyota dealers in the Yukon and I did not want to lose those pieces! So far my temp fix is holding. Also blew out one of the OEM Yokohama Avids in Yukon, so have a new tire right rear. image.jpg
