My Prius is a hunk of metal & plastic (ditto my Insight, Civic)

Easy to do with Prius Super RV! We found on our trip to Alaska that the rear seats folded down plus platform behind the front seats makes a decent cot for sleeping, and the attached tent makes a quite decent living/dining room. Now if we could just figure out how to add a shower and bathroom!

I thought the guy saying, "My Prius didn't do well in the snow..... I'm switching to Subaru...." was composed just fine. He stated why he didn't like the car & why he's moving to something higher off the ground.

I wasn't responding to his post, I was responding to yours, mostly the "you suck" comment. I don't believe anyone said that in his thread, so I figured you must be talking in generalities. And "in general", people don't say someone sucks unless their post looks like it was left by a troll.

Fiberglass and Metal, but not important to the point CB was making in jest.

All of my appliances work better than yours, or, maybe its my attitude. Our Priuses (my wife has a v (lowercase v) and I have a c) are nice but at the end of the day its still just a car and I don't sleep with it, make out with it, or play fetch with it. It does take me for walks, kind of.

Why did you buy all of those cars if you don't like them?

    Best wishes.... Mike

I like the engines & the different techniques to save fuel (Honda IMA, Toyota hybrid drive, CVT, plug-in electric, etc). Last year one of my cars died (Mitsubishi). I didn't really care, just as I wouldn't care if my TV suddenly stopped working. I just junked it and moved on.
If you read all the posts in response to the Subaru guy, some of them can be summarized with two words: "You suck." People are very protective of the prius.

And I did the same, called the National Kidney Foundation and had them pick it up to sell at auction. It's just a van, though there are fond memories tied to the time we had it, nothing more. I'm not sure though why anyone cares if people are attached to their "things".

And I didn't get the same "you suck" vibe you did from reading the thread as a whole. Yeah, some took offence, maybe, but most simply pointed out how they dealt with all her complaints, not that she asked. FWIW, I just re-read the whole thread and I didn't think it got ugly until post #127 and again when you took exception in post #129 to a comment made in jest in post #3. And, the OP ended up buying a Lexus RX450 because her husband got a bonus. Maybe I'm reading the wrong thread?

Edit: Oh, and I'm not trying to be argumentative, I just see the thread a different way. I admit I was struck by someone who joined in 2010, posted 17 times and one of those was offering her reasons for "ditching the Prius", her words. :)

I also thought, "So is every other car" when I read the title of this thread...

I get a little nostalgic when I see my first car I ever drove - it was an old Volvo that was older than I was and I hated and loved it at the same time. Old black "bitchin' Volvo", as my mom used to put it. She she was a good reliable car, a veritable tank. She saw me through my first accident with the tiniest of dents above one of the front lights (the other car had to be towed).

To me, my Prius is a roomy hatchback that is easy to drive . But to some folks, it is a eco statement and lifestyle identity. People love to attack and defend where they stand on all sorts of issues. This one is as good as any to fight about--- it seems to be in our DNA.
