Thanks for your response eblade, Well. I pressed all the buttons on the dash-mounted screen & on the steering wheel & checked phone to see if it was picking up a tooth to connect to. While the car was in motion, or rather, not in Park.
To pair the phone (this is from memory, may not be correct) you have to select Phone -> Settings -> Connect, and then search from the phone's Bluetooth setup menu. You can't pair while the car is in motion.
