does anyone know where to tap into the rear speakers for an amp install? I tried to search all over the place and couldn't find an answer. I really do not want to remove the door panels just to tap in the back of the speakers.
Attached is a little information from a 2012 v that has wire colors. It appears to be a 2 conductor cable. If you look at the rear door the cable goes into the door pillar between the front and rear doors. I would pull the inside trim cover off the door pillar and splice inside that cavity.
sweet, thank you so much for this. So I would find the wire within the door panel between the F/R door? Will be getting delivery of the amp/sub this week. Will be my weekend project!!!
Just installed HIDs w/relays and the amp/sub/knob today...just tapping the speaker wires on both sides took forever in that tiny little space. These 2 projects took my atleast 6hrs to complete today =(. But now I can say in perfectly happy with the outcome and using it as my DD.
I am going to embark on a similar project on my 2013 PriusV 2, with a PriusV 3 radio. I am buying this amplifier and line level matching transformer: Amp and a line level transformer: The Tiny Amp will fit in the hole left behind when a passenger broke the back seat cup holder (located in the back of the center console). This allows my passengers to connect with Bluetooth to the rear speakers without bothering me. Also, the passengers can control the volume. Note: I upgraded the speakers already. It would be a lot simpler if I could tap into the speaker wire behind the radio itself, and then run the input and output wires inside the Console. Can I get a description of which wires are the speaker wires coming out of the radio?
I have 2012 Prius V I am also trying to tap into the wiring harness f going along the trim but this diagram is confusing to me do both rear right speaker and rear left speaker wires go through that harness located on the driver door trim
Hey man did you figure out the colors that you need to tap into ?! There is alot of wires god help me
